The Studio Lighting Taster Session is a journey of discovery highlighted with a series of question and answer sessions for all those budding photographers who feel they haven’t had the opportunity to explore this area of photography in depth yet.

This time, Photographers will pose as models and get the opportunity to not only see things from a model’s perspective, but also learn about lighting techniques and how and where it accentuates the face and body of a model.

You will learn how to manipulate light in a controlled environment, what you’ll need to produce high quality images time and time again and also what lighting equipment to use and how to use it depending on which style of portraiture you are trying to achieve.
If you ‘d like to optimize your lighting potential, experience being around and chatting with experienced photographers in this area then this is the workshop for you. Some professional photographers will be there during this workshop, ready to help out where they can.

Join Brian and I on the 6th of November for a taster session for the Official Studio Lighting Workshop which will be held over a series of weekends in November. Dates to be confirmed at the taster session.

Places are limited for the OFFICIAL WORKSHOP and are limited to 10 spaces per group in order to really benefit from the personal 1:1 attention and guidance from noted London Fashion Photographer Brian Jay. Brian has worked as a professional Fashion Photographer for more than 40 years. He has owned and run his own studio and shot a multitude of front pages over the years.

The taster session is a preview of what to expect for the intensive 4 hour workshop. For both the taster session and the Intermediate Workshop, we will have full studio kit at our disposal, snacks and drinks available and expert advice on how to make the most of your camera settings in order to get the best results.

Who is this workshop for?:
~Anyone who owns a DSLR camera and knows how to shoot in Manual Mode.
~ Level of experience and professional capacity is irrelevant.
~NO PREVIOUS STUDIO experience necessary.
~ This is a workshop for anyone who could benefit from upping their game and getting more creative with their portraits. Be it fashion or informal portraits. The techniques you’ll learn about and take away at the end of the day will stay with you forever, help you gain advantage over your competitors and allow you to explore different styles of portraits. You will take away practical solutions that you could utilize in or outside a studio environment as well as taking away photos you could immediately use to print or enhance your portfolio.

Entry for the taster session is £10 and will cover 1.5 hours of Brian sharing his knowledge with us, a delicious Cappuccino/Latte/Coffee/Tea or Soft Drink and an overview of what we have planned for the OFFICIAL WORKSHOP day.

ONLY 50 spaces available for the taster session. Reserve your space by letting us know if you’d like to attend, and how many spaces you’d like to reserve.

During the taster session you’ll be able to jot down any questions you may have for the Intermediate and Advanced Workshops
