Stanmer Park, Brighton

My last visit to Stanmer Park was when I took part in the “Race for Life 2009″ event. I remember the park making me feel much like a sardine in a tin can with so many people there. On that day I was sad, looking at women running, walking and marching in honor of their loved ones who either passed away from Cancer or was struggling with it. The race participants had names and photos attached to their shirts. Connecting a face, a name and a loved one to Cancer was quite an emotive experience. This year I went to Stanmer Park again and was in awe of how big the park really is. I felt grateful to see it on such a beautifully lit day. Looking accross the green lawns, a medley of bushes and leafy green trees surrounded me. I felt quite small. And that was ok.
